Because of the faster speeds, 4G must come with a hefty price tag, right? Wrong.
The Moto G 4G with LTE is just £159 – that's only £10 more than the standard 3G model. Who wouldn't pay a tenner for twice the internet speed?
That price is SIM-free.
The handset isn't currently available on pay monthly tariffs, but keep your eyes peeled. Its predecessor can be had for free on contracts costing just £11 a month.
While 4G contracts are pricier than 3G, it could still pop up as a bargain.
Amazingly, despite its low price, it's not the most affordable 4G smartphone in town.
It's been outdone by its stablemate, the new Motorola Moto E.
This packs a 4.5-inch screen, 4G LTE networking and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, all in a package that costs just £110. Bargain.
Even cheaper, the EE Kestrel costs just £99. Though obviously it makes some compromises.

While it might not be the cheapest, the New Moto G 4G with LTE is one of the best 4G bargains around.
It's big, with a 5-inch screen that has a resolution of 720x1,280 pixels (most phones around this price have 4-inch screens, or even smaller).
It packs 8GB of storage. And it has an eight-megapixel rear camera and two-megapixel front-facer.
The 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip might not be the fastest around, but it more than does the job, especially partnered with 1GB of RAM.
And for this price, we're not arguing.

Motorola has launched a 4G capable version of the second-generation Moto G, as it continues to carve out a niche for cheap and cheerful, well-specc’d smartphones.
The first-generation Moto G was available in 3G and 4G variants and arrived in 2013. Then, a 3G-only version of a second-gen take on the Moto G hit stores towards the end of last year.
Now we’ve got a 4G model of the second-generation edition, with the same spec sheet and Android 5.0 software, but with faster mobile internet and a brawnier, non-removable 2390mAh battery.
Available to buy now SIM-free and off-contract for £159 from Moto and from carriers and retailers from March 16th, the phone’s key 'sells' are a 5-inch 720p HD display, a beefy Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and a water-resistant coating.
It’s also home to an eight-megapixel rear camera, a two-megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies and expandable storage via microSD.
And you get brand-specific software features such as Motorola Alert, which “lets your friends and family know where you are and if you need assistance” and Moto Migrate, which is intended to make it easy to transfer all your info from your old phone.

Looks oks like the HTC One M9 has already been bested, and by HTC itself. Its HTC One E9 has just leaked, and it boasts a bigger, better screen than the firm's latest flagship.
The handset has a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen, with a resolution of 2,560x1,440 pixels. That puts the M9's 1080p display to shame. Inside is a Mediatek MT6795 processor clocked at 2GHz.
Otherwise, it's pretty similar to the M9. It has the same 20-megapixel camera, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Though it has a flatter design in place of the M9's curves.
The device was revealed by Chinese telecommunications regulator TENAA.
The One E8 was a plastic, lower-specced take on the One (M8).
But these specs suggest HTC is taking a different tack with the One E9. Or they could relate to the HTC One M9 Plus, which would be a super-sized version of its current flagship, with a slight spec boost.
HTC is thought to have an announcement scheduled for this month. We'll bring you more as we get it.

Apple's Spring Forward event this week gave us plenty to chew on.
There was a new design of laptop, new MacBook Air and Apple announced it had sold 700 million iPhones. But it was all about the Apple Watch.
The Cupertino company well and truly spilled the beans on the device, confirming the price, release date and more. So what do you need to know? Read on and find out.
First, Apple said the device was coming "early in 2015". Then Tim Cook narrowed that down to April. Now we have a firm release date: April 24th.
Us Brits will be able to get one then, as will those in the US, Australia, France, Japan, China, Germany, Hong Kong and Canada.
Want to register your interest? Pre-orders kick off on April 10th – that's just under a month away.
That also happens to be the day the Samsung Galaxy S6 goes on sale. We foresee a war of words...
ViSaali Telugu Boothu Kathalu
Apple had previously revealed the device would start at $349, but otherwise kept mum on the pricing.
In the UK, the cheapest model will cost £299 – that's the 38mm, aluminium-bodied Apple Watch Sport.
That's quite a bit pricier than the Moto 360 (£199), Withings Activite Pop (£120) and LG G Watch R (£195).
If you want to spend more, Apple will gladly help you empty your pockets.
The standard model is more pricey, as it has a sapphire crystal screen instead of Ion-X glass, and fancier straps.
And if you want the best of the best, the Apple Watch Edition is for you – the top-of-the-range 18-carat model costs a whopping £13,500. It's by far the most expensive gadget Apple has ever made.
Telugu Kama Kathalu pandaga
Apple has revealed the battery will last 18 hours before needing juicing up.
That's if you check the time 90 times, receive 90 notifications, use apps for 45 minutes, and work out for 30 minutes while listening to music over Bluetooth.
It will also give you three hours of talk time on a single charge, and six and a half hours of music playback.
Fitness fans will get seven hours of workout time.
You can extend the battery by using it less. Only check the time five times an hour, and it will run for 48 hours before needing a recharge. (Though if you're doing that, you may as well buy a normal watch.) Power Reserve mode, where it just shows the time, gives it 72 hours of battery with four time checks an hour.
Tammu Ditoa (Telugu Akka tho Dengudu Kathalu)
The Apple Watch will have 8GB of storage, but only a fraction of that is usable. The operating system takes up the bulk of it, leaving you only 2GB for music and 75MB for photos.
But don't despair. 2GB will fit plenty of tunes, and will be more than enough for a run without your phone.
Photos will be resized on the device, so should take up less space. And let's face it, they're not going to look great on that tiny screen.
Apple Pay will work right off the watch – double tap the side button, and your credit card appears on screen.
Then just hold the watch near the card reader to pay. It makes a trill noise and gives you haptic feedback. And that's it.
Uber is just as simple. Open the app on your watch and it'll tell you how soon a car can be with you.
Confirm you want a lift and a map appears showing the driver's location, and you can swipe to see his or her face and car.
Your phone stays in your pocket.

An other day, another iOS 8 update.
Except that unlike the slew of incremental upgrades that followed the original glitchy version of iOS 8, the just-released 8.2 edition of Apple’s software is about a lot more than sticking plasters and botched 'fixes'.
From the addition of Apple Watch support to a fully functional version of Health that doesn’t keel over in the face of any sort of exertion, this is a major upgrade by anyone's definition.
Naturally, that means there's an awful lot to get your teeth into.
For those of you who haven’t time to pore over tech blogs or spend hours exploring the crevices of the OS, here’s our one-stop, need-to-know guide to iOS 8.2.
abbA- ninDA-peTTu
Perhaps the key feature of iOS 8.2 is the Apple Watch app it installs on your handset.
Naturally, it’s impossible to remove. So even if you’ve no intention of investing in Apple’s techno timepiece, you’re stuck with the app.
This applies if you’ve got an iPhone that doesn’t support the Apple Watch (that's any handset before the iPhone 5, wearables fans).
Once the Apple Watch is on sale, though, the app will let you set up your smartwatch, tweak notifications settings and manage app installations.
But until April 10th, the Apple Watch application is just a placeholder and a repository for a trove of Apple Watch showreels and glossy ads.
The health-tracking facet of the Apple Watch comes under the new Activity app, which you’ll be able to use to view your feats of fitness.
It’s worth noting, though, that this app only appears when you pair your iPhone with an Apple Watch. So if exercise is anathema to you, you won’t be stuck with another app that’s useless to you.
madhu (Telugu Boothu kathalu)
I’m not sure exactly how much my shonky experience is shared by the wider world of iPhone 6 owners. But for me, Health has been more of a bugbear than a boon so far.
Slow to update and prone to crashing and taking everything with it, it's a major blight on iOS 8.
iOS 8.2 should see Apple finally get a grip, however.
Health is now more stable (especially when dealing with large amounts of fresh data and making adjustments), offers support for third-party apps and lets you change units of measurement.
And you can now turn off the automatic step-counter too, which was previously ‘always-on’ whether you wanted it or not.
Modatisari Majja
Apple made iOS 8.2 available the moment the house lights went down at the Apple Watch launch.
As usual, the rollout is staggered and you’ll get a reminder when you can grab it for yourself.
Can’t wait that long? Just check for updates in the settings part of your phone and you’ll be offered the chance to upgrade to the fresh OS straightaway.
However, because of the sheer weight of demand on Apple’s servers you should, of course, expect a long wait to actually download it.
So you may decide it’s smartest to wait until upgrade fever dies down a bit.
Naturally, you’ll want to make sure that when you do upgrade you do so over WiFi to avoid punishing your download allowance. And it’s smart to ensure your iPhone has over 50% charge or is plugged in before you start too.

The only good bug is a dead bug. Or at least it is if we believe General Johnny Rico from campy but clever Sci-Fi outing Starship Troopers.
With that battle cry in its ears, Apple has tooled up and gone to war.
Fixes are promised in iOS 8.2 for a bug that impaired calls over Bluetooth calling and meant there was no audio until a call was answered. It also tackles a Maps snafu that caused problems navigating to users’ favourite destinations.
There's more. It patches the so-called FREAK vulnerability, nixes problems when restoring content from iCloud in the event that you had duplicate content on iTunes too. And it addresses minor calendar and quick-reply problems.
What it doesn’t remedy, or at least there’s no mention of it in Apple’s changelog, is the Wi-Fi connectivity issue that’s been plaguing handsets and seriously impacting on battery life.
Given the sheer volume of complaints about it, that’s more than a little disappointing.

Sony is breaking with its current release schedule for its flagship Z series and will drop its next flagship much later than might've been expected.
A source told TrustedReviews that the Z4 "will not be released until September 2015". That's a year on from its predecessor, the Z3.
Previously, Sony was outing a new Z handset every six months or so. The firm was criticised for this by consumers concerned their new smartphone would be obsolete barely half a year later.
A September launch would mean the handset would most likely debut at tech trade show IFA.
This will be held from September 4th-9th this year. It would also mean the handset could go up against the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 in the battle for market share and mind share.
Samsung has used IFA to launch the latest in its Note series for the past few years.
The Z4 is rumoured to run a Snapdragon 810 processor and Android 5.0 Lollipop. Little else is known about it at the moment.
Sony revealed its latest tablet, the Xperia Z4 Tablet, at Mobile World Congress last week.
It's thinner and faster than its predecessor, and looks a real Android rival to the iPad Air 2.

This is the best look yet at the LG G4. The leaked image shows not a lot has changed since the G3 – those buttons are still on the back, for starters – with one notable exception: it has a bigger camera sensor.
That hints we could see some beefed-up camera skills. It also keeps its laser focus system that allows it to lock on to a subject in a fraction of a second.
The back is curved, but the screen looks flat in these images. So it seems LG won't replicate the LG G Flex2 and launch another bendy blower.
The G3 was one of the best handsets of last year, and took the unconventional approach of putting the power and volume buttons on the back.
It seems LG is sticking with the design quirk for the fourth instalment in the G series.
It looks like the same metal-feeling plastic finish as the LG G3. And you can bet it will have at least the same 2K screen, if not a 3K model, as some rumours say.
Also nailed on are a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip and Android 5.0 Lollipop.
We're expecting a screen size of somewhere between 5.5-inches and 5.7 inches.
The handset should launch in April, so not long to go.
Paravasam Telugu Boothu Katalu
The Z4 is said to have a bigger screen than the Z3, though accounts vary as to its actual size.
One source told PhoneArena it will sport a 5.2-inch, 1080p display. However, a previous report claimed it will be a 5.4-inch QHD screen.
Both of these are improvements on the Z3's 5.15-inch display.
Reading the tea leaves, we would wager the 5.4-inch, QHD screen is more likely.
Screens are getting bigger and sharper, and ever since the LG G3 launched last year, QHD (aka 2K) is quickly becoming standard for flagships.
The LG G4 is said to boast a 3K screen. With standards evolving so quickly, it's unlikely Sony would stick with bog-standard 1080p.

Rumours that Sony’s smartphones division is up for sale are wide of the mark, a mover and shaker at the mobile-maker told uSwitch.
Reports that mobiles wing is up for tender were lent a layer of credence by the sale of Sony’s TV division and its Vaio laptop arm last year. And subsequently by comments given by CEO Kazuo Hirai in an interview earlier this month.
But in an exclusive Q&A with uSwitch, Vice President of Global Communications & PR at Sony Mobile Tim Harrison claimed that reports Sony is looking to offload another segment of its business are without foundation.
"Whenever a company is going through a period of transformation, there are going to be changes to our business and there are going to be redundancies. Of course there are.
"Whenever you've got that economic atmosphere around a company, then people will read things into things that are said.

Whenever you've got that economic atmosphere around a company, then people will read things into things that are said.
"[But] what he [Kazuo Hirai, Chief Executive of Sony] was basically saying was 'look, we're a grown- up company, so we've got to leave all our options open'.
"He was not saying, at all ‘we are up for sale’. Categorically, we are not up for sale.”
The firm denial from Sony comes after ‘sell-off’ rumours were stoked further by its decision not to unveil a flagship phone at Mobile World Congress or at the CES expo.
Here’s hoping we do see a Xperia Z4 this year and that the missing top-of-the-range phone doesn't mean trouble is looming for the company.
Perhaps it will arrive later in the year, 12-months or so after the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact phones.
PakkinTi-ankul (Telugu Boothu Kathalu)
Back in November, Sony unveiled a new camera module for use in mobile devices. And where better to implement it than with the Z4?
The module is called the Emor RS IMX230. It's the first for a smartphone to feature image plane phase detection autofocus.
In other words, it's very nippy at capturing quick-moving objects for both stills and video.
This is handled by dedicated phase detection autofocus pixels which are incorporated into the screen of the image sensor and track the distance to the subject.
It supports up to 192 focus points.
It's smaller than the sensor in the Z3 – meaning the Z4 could be slimmer – and captures HDR videos at full 4K.

Google is plotting a new Android Pay mobile payments tool and will reveal its plans at its annual I/O event in May. Sources have told Ars Technica that the new service will not replace its existing Google Wallet product.
Instead, Google will offer an API to developers so they can build a mobile payment solution directly into their apps, allowing users to pay via NFC when they go into shops.
This differs hugely from Google Wallet and the rival Apple Pay platform, which offer a central hub for credit and debit cards. Word is that Android Pay will be able to draw banking information from Google Wallet to help smooth the process of adding personal details to new apps.
Apple Pay has proved a huge success since its launch at the end of 2014 in the US and has also helped Google Wallet to surge, with a growing awareness among consumers about mobile payments.
It’s not yet clear when Android Pay will launch and if it will have a global presence. Google is not said to have signed on with any partners, meaning it could be some time before we see the service go live.

Google will launch its own mobile network, in the United States at least, after Android chief Sundar Pichai confirmed rumours of the tech giant's plans at Mobile World Congress (MWC).
As expected, it won’t be a standalone service, rather an MVNO, much like Tesco Mobile and giffgaff here in the UK.
However, Pichai suggested that the network wouldn’t be your average mobile provider.
He said it was more along the lines of Google’s Nexus handsets and would be an experimental platform that would tie in with its Google Fiber broadband programme across the pond.
Word is it’ll allow seamless switching from Wi–Fi to 4G, essentially supplementing the broadband service Google already offers.
It’s not yet clear whether users will be able to pay Google a monthly fee for a mobile contract.
Pichai also revealed plans for Android Pay, a new mo

BlackBerry's latest proprietary apps will be made available on rival phone-makers' platforms, it has been confirmed, after unveiling them as part of the BlackBerry Experience Suite at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015.
The unbundled software from the BlackBerry 10 OS will bring the likes of the BlackBerry Hub to Apple's iOS, Google's Android and Microsoft Windows Phone OS.
Hub is a unified inbox for emails, text messages, instant messages, Tweets, Facebook updates, BlackBerry Messenger messages and any other sort of communique you can think of.
Users can respond to these without leaving BlackBerry Hub and going into the individual app that was used to send the original message.
It is a useful and key piece of the BlackBerry 10 OS, but the new software showcased at MWC all seemed to be aimed at business, rather than the likes of you and me.
With that in mind, we asked Jeff Gadway Director of Product Marketing at BlackBerry's Enterprise division, if plans are afoot to bring the best BlackBerry 10 apps to consumers too.
Gadway said: "Yes, we see it as an opportunity to take the crown jewels of the BlackBerry Experience: like the Hub and our security and make them available on all platforms.
